This Is a Whole New Ballgame…

So opening up the local paper and seeing your ad is one thing but finding out one of your events is featured in the lifestyle section of St. Louis Magazine’s blog is a whole new ballgame! Today Bada Bling Boutique was lucky enough to be noticed and recognized by StL Mag’s  fashion blogger, Jennifer Wells.

It all started when Ms. Wells came into BBB during the first week we were open and eyed our little boutique from top to bottom. She could have not been more complementary when talking about our choice in merchandise, the shop’s layout, and even our marketing.  Honestly she was so gracious that I didn’t know if she was just trying to be nice about our small town shop! But much to our surprise Wells came in yesterday and said pushed to have our humble little children’s book signing event as an article in “The Good, The Bad and The Lovely” blog.

Can I just say… “WOW!”

I mean we have not even been open a month and a major city’s magazine has noticed us. To say I’m speechless is actually saying too much!

So I will leave you with this…

Thank you… from the bottom of my heart -Thank You!

Until next time chicas…

Figure it out yet???

No, it’s not the number of shoes that are in the bottom of my closet … And no, it’s not the amount of multi-colored necklaces I own. … It’s simply the magical amount of crayons my mommy might have let me buy for my upcoming school year…. when I was six-years old.

But really… remember the joy you felt when you and your mom hopped in the car to purchase your endless list of class goodies. Funny how it was always so exciting to get those Pepto-Bismol pink erasers, the boldly lined pads of paper, the small rounded-tip scissors, and of course the good ole’ #2’s and then pack them up in your new Holly Hobbie book bag for the first day of school! And how, for just those few short weeks, you would look at your shiny new box of unopened crayons, gazing over the vast rainbow of politically correct colors, excitedly daydreaming of all of the vibrant works of art that were yet to come!

Well why not reenact that feeling by letting your kids color this page for Bada Bling Boutique’s children’s book signing this weekend. BBB will have a contest for the best Pickle Juice page (And what I mean by best is that we will randomly pick one out of a stack) and there will be a prize for the winner!

So break open that crayon box early and hopefully your little one will at least let you color the edges!

Until next time chicas…

Your Shirt Is Music To My Eyes…

Do you enjoy the classics like The Doors or The Rolling Stones? No matter what age you are I’m sure you know one, if not 10 of the rock and roll hits of the 60’s and 70’s. Well then I’m sure you are probably a fan of The Beatles..right?!?! This group is not only one of the most influential bands of the century but they inspired a generation to change their way of thinking and caused a revolutionary movement that is still talked about today. I mean how many people, more or less, musicians can say that? They were true legends!

Well in that spirit, one of the lines of men’s clothing that Bada Bling Boutique carries is inspired by the art and lyrics of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. This set of wovens and t-shirts incorporates the words and paintings that these artists are so known for and transforms them into a unique collection that any man, at any age would love! Come in to BBB today and get a great new piece to add to your… or the man in your life’s wardrobe.

I have NOTHING to wear!!!

Do you ever look in your closet and think… “I have NOTHING to wear!!!” I think we all struggle with this dilemma at one time or another. Opening up that door, pushing the endless hangers down the rack one by one, sizing up each individual piece thinking “No… No… No!” And the funny thing is, it doesn’t matter how many tops, pants, dresses, or jeans you have, at one point… usually right before you are getting dressed up for a night on the town… you are screaming

“I don’t have one cute thing to put on!!!”

Well I feel ya! Experiencing this is probably one of the top frustrations I have. Well that and my mortgage, my 15-year old Nissan and men in general, but I digress. Clothing tends to be the true skin that some women put on. And succumbing to wearing an outfit out that you aren’t happy with feels as if you’re walking out into the world naked, for all to see!

The funny thing is, when you first so meticulously picked out that outfit and tried it on in the store’s dressing room you thought “Damn I look good!”You twisted and turned in that small little changing room, looking at your stylish self at all different angles and smiling as you thought “Yep… THIS is the one!”   So what happened??? Did that one-of-a-kind ensemble all of a sudden change after a couple of outings??

The answer is no. It’s still the great outfit you picked out in the store, that you got complements on from your friends and sometimes strangers; but it’s now just another couple of pieces of your wardrobe.  It’s lost the newness and just like that really exciting first kiss; it’s hard to beat it the second time around.

So keep shopping for that amazing new piece to add to your wardrobe, because unlike that moment when your lips touch for the first time, you can keep that feeling coming back again and again!

Having a job doesn’t always mean you work for a living…

Part of the absolute perk of having your own boutique is the joy you get from the hunting and gathering of your shop’s inventory. I mean Tammy and I get to spend hours searching on fashion websites , choosing the clothing, jewelry and accessories that we love and then, just like a child on Christmas morning,  we get to unwrap our goodies and blingy baubles and play dress-up! And with that not being enough, we also get to shop for the cutie-patutie girl we never had, the sweet little boy who is now all grown up(both of our boys are as big as men) and for the man who will wear whatever we want, without any fight about what he thinks fashion sense is.  I mean, how fun is that…right?!?!

This type of joy was demonstrated once again when we received the newest shipment of dresses. Jessica, one of our BBB Beauties, excitedly texted us yesterday morning stating “The dresses are in! The dresses are in!!!” So I rushed over to do a quick quality control check …a.k.a. – the first one to get to open the box 😉 … and much to my delight the dresses were even better than what we saw online. Squealing, I called Tammy to rush over so we could have a runway show… a.k.a. – she gets to play “America’s Next Top Model”.  We both couldn’t contain ourselves from shrieking in delight as she sashayed around our store, with both of us admiring how amazing the dresses look! And to top it off, we got to style our baby doll… a.k.a. – mannequin… picking out just the right jewelry and cute little clutch to display in front of our window for all the world to see!!!

So with that being said… we want to thank you, from the bottom of your hearts, for allowing us to have one of the best jobs in the world…a job that never feels like work!

Start The Presses!!!

Well we made it official…we have our first piece of marketing material! The O’Fallon Progress, our local paper, posted our ad today and boy did that feel weird! I mean to open up the local press and see your advertisement is just a little surreal. Knowing that just less than six months ago we had the boutique as a fleeting thought… no long drawn out plan… no structured marketing schedule… just a thought that maybe, just maybe,  we could actually do this?!?! Who could have even seen that by mid-summer we would already have a month under our belt and an ad in the paper?!?!

So with that being said, all I can say is “Wow, what a ride this has been!” We hope you continue to follow us in this adventure we call Bada Bling!

Until next time chicas…

New Item of the Day!!!

The next best thing to the drink…. Margarita Bloom!

Have you craved a new skincare beauty line that is luxurious, handmade and with amazingly yummy scents?!? Well look no more because BBB features the one and only Margarita Bloom Skincare Bath and Beauty line! We love this product because it not only specializes in lovely scents like mango, coconut, lavender, and vanilla but it has a retro, Parisian, pin-up theme that is great for a unique gift idea. The packaging, with its old school feel, is so 50’s-Hollywood and the product names, like “Big Kahuna” and “Mango Lassie”, put a smile on your face before you even take in your first whiff.

So to kick off your first try of the lovely Margarita Bloom, Bada Bling Boutique is featuring it as it’s item of the day. This Sunday, we are taking 40% off (That’s right…40%…you read that correctly) the entire product line!!!! So come in and make your first, of many purchases, of Margarita Bloom so you too can smell as fabulous as Audrey Hepburn sipping a cocktail on the sandy beaches of Paris!

Can anyone have too many dresses???

Recently I cleaned out my closet and I started to count the number of dresses I have…. let’s just say I have a lot! So I started to reflect… ” Can anyone have too many dresses???” I mean I’m not talking about the “I’ll lose some weight next year” dresses mixed with the “I’m sure I can make this bridesmaid dress into a cocktail dress” dresses; I’m talking just everyday dresses! Solids, prints, blinged out; you name it, I have it.

But at what point do you say… “No more.” And if you do, then is that it??? No more hunt for the perfect date dress. Not another outing to find a great little black dress? No, that can’t be right?!?!

Therefore it’s official.. I”m making a rule and a pledge to myself and all of the other fashion lovers out there…

You CAN’T have too many dresses!

So now that we have that question answered, come on down and visit us at Bada Bling Boutique because we are getting in three new styles of dresses this week!

Until next time chicas…
